Composer
Michael is an Emmy-Nominated composer who writes music for television, film, and interactive media. He has composed music for the acclaimed television show Once Upon a Time (ABC). His other major television credits include additional music on Blindspot (NBC), Arrow (CW), All American (CW), The Mentalist (CBS), Notes from the Underbelly (ABC), Eastwick (ABC), Traveler (ABC), and Brothers and Sisters (ABC).
Michael composed the score for the feature film, The Squeeze. Additionally, his other major film credits include additional music on Bill & Ted Face The Music, Togo, A Dog’s Journey, Megan Leavey, the action-packed Mechanic: Resurrection, The Longest Ride, and the quirky comedy, The Great Gilly Hopkins.
Born and raised in Mound, Minnesota, Michael was first drawn to film scoring by a fascination with the way music can submerge a viewer’s experiences into stories. He received classical training in music composition at Ithaca College, and later he received a graduate degree in USC’s Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program. Michael has worked in collaboration with some of the world’s best composers, and considers it a dream come true to be able to share his music with the world while helping tell tales of adventure, love, sadness, joy, despair, mirth and everything in between.
